Too often we are given bandaid solutions to suppress these symptoms rather than addressing the root cause.

Raise your hand 🙋🏼‍♀️ if you:

- Consume coffee ☕️ caffeine for fatigue
- Take Tylenol / Advil for 🤕 aches and pains
- Take birth control for painful periods 🩸
- Use laxatives for constipation 💩
- Take Benedryl or Zyrtec for allergies 🤧

These solutions suppress symptoms but don’t actually fix or resolve anything.

Protein is an important macronutrient that often gets overlooked in women’s health, especially in regard to hormone health. Benefits of eating adequate protein include:

👉 Blood sugar regulation
👉 Reduced cravings
👉 Improved satiety
👉 Increased metabolism
👉 Maintaining a healthy weight
👉 Supports muscle building and strength
👉 Improved recovery

It’s essential to your hormone health that you are consuming adequate protein each and every day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But “𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒊𝒏?”

While this will be different for each woman, based on age, weight, muscle mass, activity level and health coach, my general recommendation is for women to consume about 35-45 grams of protein at each meal and 15-20 grams with snacks.

Give yourself time to ease into adding more protein to your day. You don’t have to jump to 140 grams per day overnight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Start by increasing your intake by adding an extra 20-30 grams.

Find the protein sources that you enjoy and start increasing your portions of those foods.

Stay consistent and before you know it, you’ll be hitting your protein goal with ease!

💢Most of my clients are dealing with chronic symptoms. And each year, they visit with their provider, run some labs and are told “nothing’s wrong, your labs are normal”. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Yet, year after year, their symptoms continue, and in many cases, worsen. 😩

💢If this has been your experience, you know how frustrating it can be. You know that something is “off”, but you are told that “everything looks good”.

💢With each of my clients, I review their lab work. I help explain why their lab results may be “normal” in terms of clinical disease. I then explain why those same numbers are outside of the “functional” or “optimal” ranges and what might be going on inside the body that is contributing to their symptoms.

💢Most physicians care about and want to help their patients, but they aren’t trained in the same ways as functional practitioners. They are trained to look for clinical signs and lab results that indicate a state of disease. Once that disease state is reached, they offer interventions.

💢The problem with this type of approach is that there is a lot that can happen and a host of chronic symptoms that can develop between HEALTH and DISEASE.
